SUMMERTIME BLOOD DONATIONS - MICAH RIFFEY, SUPERVISOR, LIFESERVE BLOOD CENTER
The need and the demand for blood is ever-present in health care. Some blood transfusions are used when people have injuries and traumas. Other uses for blood include red platelets and plasma. Every patient's needs are varied but blood is almost always needed in emergency situations. The number of blood donations in summer months is usually low but is especially low this year in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Every blood type is needed. Micah Riffey, supervisor for LifeServe Blood Centers, discusses the need for blood donations and how you can help save a life! For more information, visit LifeServe Blood Centers.
