CCMH Announces Dr. Karl Hasik Will Begin Practice in November

The Board of Trustees of Crawford County Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that Dr. Karl Hasik, Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, will begin his OB-GYN practice at the CCMH Medical Clinic in November 2012. Dr. Hasik was in private practice in Paragould, Arkansas before coming to Denison. He is a graduate of the medical school at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and completed his residency at the St. Louis University School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in St. Louis, Missouri. Throughout his medical career, which has taken him from his hometown of St. Louis and to the southern and western states, Dr. Hasik has delivered over 5,000 babies.

Dr. Hasik will start seeing patients at the CCMH Medical Clinic on Monday, November 5, 2012. Patients can call the CCMH Medical Clinic at (712) 265-2700 to schedule appointments and can start calling any time. Office hours for Dr. Hasik will be Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm.

“My practice is a general OB-GYN practice, but I have always had special interests”, noted Dr. Hasik. “I am certified in hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, both minimally invasive approaches to gynecology surgery.” Dr. Hasik’s surgical services will include performing all the noninvasive approaches to hysterectomy, removal of ovaries, and the medical and surgical treatment of female urinary incontinence.

Additional services provided by Dr. Hasik will include in-office surgery for endometrial ablation, a procedure done to stop or slow a woman’s menstrual bleeding without a hysterectomy, and in-office sterilization using the ESSURE technique allowing the patient to remain awake during the procedure and walk out of the office immediately afterwards to resume her life right away.
“I look forward to the opportunity to serve the women of Denison, Crawford County, and the surrounding areas with my skill set in OB-GYN. I am grateful for the chance to share my ability,” Dr. Hasik said.

Dr. Hasik, and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 24 years and have four children. All of their children are currently enrolled in college but at four different universities.

Along with having his private OB-GYN practice since 1983, Dr. Hasik has also served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Family Medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine; and, as Interim Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Alabama School of Medicine, Tuscaloosa program, as Generalist in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
