JURY FINDS CRAWFORD COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL NOT NEGLIGENT
(Denison, IA) – A Monona County jury has found Crawford County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) not negligent in a lawsuit filed on January 13, 2016 by Sheri Neddermeyer. A unanimous verdict was returned by the jury after deliberation. The jury awarded no damages. The trial began Tuesday, May 21 with the verdict being returned on Thursday, May 23, 2019. All costs from the lawsuit were assigned to the plaintiff by the court.
The lawsuit stemmed from a January 2014 consultation the plaintiff had with Dennis Crabb, MD, a CCMH physician. The lawsuit alleged CCMH was negligent and committed malpractice in failing to properly monitor levels of gentamicin and in failing to draw peak and trough levels.
