NEW SHIIP COUNSELOR OFFERING MEDICARE INFORMATION IN DENISON
Where can I go to find answers about the Medicare prescription drug plans? Are mammograms covered by Medicare Part B? What is a Medicare Advantage plan? I’m turning 65—who can help me understand Medicare? My medications have gotten so expensive I just can’t afford to take them all, is there any help?
Answers to these questions can be found by meeting with an Iowa Senior Health Insurance Information Program or SHIIP counselor at Crawford County Memorial Hospital.
CCMH is pleased to announce that Michele Steffen from Dow City completed the extensive training program and will be assisting prospective and current Iowa Medicare beneficiaries in navigating their insurance choices. The counseling is service provided by the state of Iowa Insurance Division’s SHIIP program and is sponsored locally by Crawford County Memorial Hospital.
Michele farms with her husband, Russ, near Dow City. She worked in the insurance industry for over 15 years and is looking forward to working with the SHIIP program.

SHIIP provides free informational materials as well as one-to-one assistance with questions and problems related to Medicare benefits, Medicare supplement insurance, Medicare and insurance claims and other related issues. SHIIP does not recommend insurance companies, plans or agents; the volunteers answer questions and provide impartial information to help Iowans on Medicare make well-informed decisions.
