DR. SARAH LUNDIN BECOMES BOARD CERTIFIED IN OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY
(Denison, IA) – Sarah Lundin, DO, OB-GYN specialist at Crawford County Memorial Hospital (CCMH), was recently notified that she has passed her initial certifying examination and is now Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Lundin began her OB-GYN practice at CCMH in Denison in May 2016.
Board certification is a voluntary process that goes above and beyond state licensing requirements for practicing medicine. It is an ongoing commitment by a physician to continually expand their knowledge in a medical specialty, like obstetrics or gynecology. Once OB-GYNs are certified, they must continue to demonstrate learning through a formal Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program if they want to remain certified.
Patients benefit from a physician’s focus on the core competencies for quality care by receiving:
• Better communicative relationships built on listening and sharing
• Improved sensitivity to their needs and concerns
• Demonstrated clinical knowledge concerning their medical condition
• Coordinated care from interprofessional teams and integrated systems of care
Dr. Lundin earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Omaha, NE. She is a 2010 graduate of Des Moines University Medical School with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. Dr. Lundin completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH and University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, NE. During her residency, she received clinical and surgical experience in general gynecology and obstetrics as well as urogynecology, reproductive endocrinology, high risk obstetrics and gynecologic malignancies.
Dr. Lundin is accepting new patients at CCMH Medical Clinic – Main Campus. Those wishing to make appointments can call 265-2700. Patients can also go online at www.ccmhia.com and request an appointment by clicking on the “Clinic Online Appointment” link on the homepage.
