UPDATE: Here is the latest on COVID-19


CCMH is committed to the health and safety of its patients, visitors, and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is the latest information on COVID-19 preparations at CCMH;

  • According to testing protocols, patients are asked to call ahead to answer the pre-screening questions. Only those patients who meet the testing criteria will receive a COVID-19 test. As of today, there have been 0 reported positive tests in Crawford County.
  • Those who have general questions about the COVID-19 virus are encouraged to visit the Iowa Department of Public Health website or call 2-1-1. There are any number of people trying to access the website or phone at the same time. Please be patient while the website loads or during the wait times in the phone queue.
  • As of March 25, according to the latest information from the Iowa Department of Public Health, there are now 145 positive tests for COVID-19 in Iowa. There were 2,578 negative COVID-19 tests results - this number represents tests reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs. There has been one reported death from COVID-19 in Iowa.
  • In accordance with guidelines established by the Iowa Department of Public Health, and until further notice, please be advised of the changes to visitor restrictions at CCMH:
    • All patients, whether in the hospital, in any other area of the hospital (i.e. clinics, specialty clinic, lab, PT,radiology, etc.) will be allowed one support person to accompany or visit them during their stay at CCMH.
    • The support person must be over the age of 18.
    • Patients will not be allowed to bring children with them to their appointments.
    • All other visitors will be asked to remain in their vehicles.
    • Patients in the hospital with a respiratory illness at CCMH will not be allowed visitors.
  • The Main Campus Clinic remains open to patients during its regular hours: Monday through Wednesday, 8 am to 6 pm; Thursday and Friday, 8am to 5pm; and Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm. The main Hospital entrance will close at the end of clinic hours each day. The main Hospital entrance will be closed after noon on Saturday and remain closed on Sunday. All patients and support persons will be required to enter the building through the Emergency entrance on Saturday afternoon and evening, and on Sunday.
  • For those who think they are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms (i.e. fever of greater that 100.4 degrees, coughing, shortness of breath, etc.), please call the Main Campus clinic at 712-265-2700. Staff will ask screening questions before giving further instructions. If you feel you are experiencing an emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
