Obstetrics Unit Manager. Full time position. Exempt/Salaried. Current RN license for the state of Iowa or compact state. BSN preferred. Three to five years of OB experience (L&D and post-partum) required. Previous supervisor and/or manager experience preferred. NRP, ACLS, PALS, and STABLE certifications required. Will be responsible for the daily operations of an active OB department which includes the development and implementation of policies and procedures and keeping the Directory of Nursing informed of both progress and potential problems. Responsible for regulatory and standard of care compliance of the OB department. Responsible for the direct management of approximately 8.0 FTE’s. Good communication skills essential. Must be willing to fulfill the role of a staff OB RN on a regular basis. Must be willing to assist with patient care on the Medical/Surgical Unit if needed.

RN – Emergency Department. Full-time (36 hours/week, 72 hours/pay period) working rotating shifts and weekends. Provides nursing care to emergency room patients and outpatients in a safe and professional manner, utilizing established policies and procedures, physician orders, protocols, standards of care, ACLS, PALS, BLA and TNCC are required within one (1) years of hire date.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Promotes the mission of Crawford County Memorial Hospital
  • Triages each patient and determines priority of care based on assessment and analyzes the factors influencing patient flow through the emergency care system
  • Performs accurate initial and ongoing assessments of patients
  • Provides care to all emergency patients and outpatients including administering medications, IV’s and treatments
  • Document care provided and patient’s response to care

  • Displays flexibility, innovation, and adaptation to change in order to best serve patient’s needs
  • Interpersonal relationship skills

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as an RN in the State of Iowa or a compact state

Experience Requirements (mandatory and preferred):

  • Prefer at least one year of acute hospital or critical care experience

RN – Medical Unit. Full-time position, 36 hours per week (3 – 12 hour shifts) from 7am to 7pm, and 7pm to 7am, in rotating shifts. Successful candidate is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as an RN in the State of Iowa or a compact state. Integrates policies, procedures, standards and physician orders to carry out quality patient care. Provides assessment, care and planning for individualized patient care.

RN – OB Unit. Full-time position rotating shifts. Progressive and rapidly growing Obstetrical department. RN with previous OB and/or Medical/Surgical experience preferred. Must have strong critical thinking skills and able and willing to work as part of a team. On call requirements. Must be willing to work 12 hour shifts with shift rotation with other staff members. Provides direct patient care in the Labor / Delivery / Postpartum / Newborn and Antepartum setting. Provides assessment and planning for individualized patient care. Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including, but not limited to: fetal monitoring and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. ACLS, PALS, BLS and NRP required but will provide if needed. Must be able to work independently.
