Admissions Clerk. Full-time position working 32 hours/week, 64 hours total per pay period on the evening shift with anticipated hours 1:30pm-10:00pm or 2:30pm-11:00pm. Rotating weekends and Holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Patient registration facility wide
  • Excellent multi-tasking, communication and customer service skills

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 1 year healthcare experience preferred

EMT-B/EMT-I. Part-time varied shifts with call. Provides appropriate medical care per certification and scope of practice in pre-hospital and hospital settings. Will function in the Emergency Department as an integral team member governed by medical staff by-laws and hospital policy and procedures. Must be comfortable assisting in the Emergency Room within their scope of practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency and routine ambulance service requests
  • Assist in inter-disciplinary procedures in the hospital setting
  • Must be able to relate well with the public and co-workers
  • Assist other departments as appropriate and as directed by supervisor
  • Function as integral team member of the Emergency Department
  • Write appropriate patient care reports
  • Follow patient care protocols developed by the service Medical Director pursuant to appropriate certification level.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge appropriate to certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Estimated Severity Index triage concepts

Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Current State of Iowa EMS licensure
  • EMT-Basic
  • EMT-Intermediate (1985+ curriculum)
  • EMT-Paramedic
  • EMT-Paramedic Specialist
  • EMT-Critical Care Paramedic
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program if certified as a Paramedic, Paramedic Specialist, or Critical Care Paramedic
  • State of Iowa Class “D” chauffeur’s license: All levels

Obstetrics Unit Manager – Full time position. Exempt/Salaried. Current RN license for the state of Iowa or compact state. BSN preferred. Three to five years of OB experience (L&D and post-partum) required. Previous supervisor and/or manager experience preferred. NRP, ACLS, PALS, and STABLE certifications required. Will be responsible for the daily operations of an active OB department which includes the development and implementation of policies and procedures and keeping the Directory of Nursing informed of both progress and potential problems. Responsible for regulatory and standard of care compliance of the OB department. Responsible for the direct management of approximately 8.0 FTE’s. Good communication skills essential. Must be willing to fulfill the role of a staff OB RN on a regular basis. Must be willing to assist with patient care on the Medical/Surgical Unit if needed.

Paramedic Specialist(2 positions).  Per diem/hourly.  Must have EMT or Paramedic certification from the State of Iowa.  Experience preferred.  Must also be comfortable assisting in the E.R. within their scope of practice.

RN – OB Unit. Full-time position rotating shifts 72 hours/pay period with on-call as required. Will float to Medical Unit when OB Unit is closed. OB experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Provides direct patient care in the Labor / Delivery / Postpartum / Newborn and Antepartum setting.  Provides assessment and planning for individualized patient care.  Communicates with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including, but not limited to: fetal monitoring and results of diagnostic studies.  Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.  Performs general nursing duties in all Maternal Child Health departments.  Participates in performance improvement activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of patient and their clinical condition.
    • Ability to formulate and individualize plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan each shift for effectiveness.
    • Communicate appropriately and clearly to nurse manager, charge nurse, co-workers and physicians.
    • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
    • Interacts professionally with patient/family and involved patient/family in the formation of the plan of care

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Demonstrates knowledge of fetal heart monitoring
    • Able to set up delivery room for delivery
    • Assist physicians in emergency situations which may arise with either a mother or infant.

RN - Surgery Unit. Full-time position, 40 hours per week (5 – 8 day hour shifts, 80 hours/pay period) with on-call as required. Successful candidate is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as an RN in the State of Iowa or a compact state.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional nursing care to peri-operative surgical patients using the nursing process and following established policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Through knowledge and understanding of sterile technique and able to identify rapidly a break in sterile techniques
  • Knowledge of nursing theory and practice
  • Displays flexibility, innovation and adaptation to change in order to best serve the patient’s needs
  • 1-2 years of Medical/Surgery experience preferred
  • Preference given to candidates with Surgery experience
