Kathy Berens-Brownmiller, PA-C 

Kathy Berens-Brownmiller, a graduate of Schleswig Community Schools, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. She then worked for 11 years at Crawford County Memorial Hospital, first as a staff nurse, the evening supervisor, and finally Associate Director of Nursing, Director of Utilization Review and Discharge Planning. She then attended the University of North Dakota School of Medicine’s Physician Assistant program at Grand Forks, North Dakota. She returned to the area to begin her career as a Physician Assistant in1993.

Kathy is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and a member of both the Iowa Academy and American Academy of Physician Assistants. Kathy has special training in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and is an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Kathy is married to Dr. Steven Brownmiller, and has three children, Dan, Sean, and Carter. She is a past president of the Denison Rotary Club, and currently serves as secretary of the Denison Foundation Board.
